LifeLine counsellors are trained counsellors from all walks of life. We are, however, LAY counsellors. We are NOT doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, or any other medical field professionals. For medical problems, please refer to the medical experts. We are people who care for the community and we want to help you.
If you are in crisis and in urgent need of help, please telephone 0861-322-322, as emails / messages cannot be answered immediately.
We try to respond to all clients in a timeous manner, however due to the number of requests we receive, the expected turnaround time of a response is roughly one (1) working day. We urge you to take the same time to think and reflect upon any suggestions made before responding back to us.
LifeLine’s counsellors are from all walks of life and therefore come from a diverse set of backgrounds. Because of this all our counsellors have to respond in English. If you are more comfortable contacting us in your own language you are welcome to do so, however if the counsellor does not speak the language, Google Translate will be used. As such it is important to be patient as there may be some mistranslations or misunderstandings. Thank you for your understanding.
The online counselling is managed in the LifeLine Pietermaritzburg office and as such if there are any concerns, please contact our office number on 033 3442 4447
